"The Innocents': Polochons, chains and morals

At the Pulsion Theatre at 10 pm

With intelligence, the director David Noir brings us into a frame, out of the frame, the frame of a right to enjoyment for the sake of enjoyment and simply, for that. Nudity is the order of the day and the play of sex is important. We feel that it is sometimes good to discover ourselves with humour. Certainly; this is a farce where we laugh. Then slowly the actors, singers and human beings give us a slightly more provocative message. Texts that tend towards the absurd, short but effective and detonate reactions. One could ask the question "why these porn videos? One could also answer "why not". That's the whole point of this team's work. But beyond that, would it be immoral to watch group oral sex? Yes, it is disturbing, but perhaps it is not them who are disturbing us but rather a society which asks us less and less to be moved and to avoid untimely erections. This play is telling us not to be ashamed of our sexuality and especially not of its particularities. It is rare to see people who do not cheat, no flesh-coloured underwear, no veiled nudity. But beyond this relationship to "hairiness", a world of unreason is taking place on the stage, which makes us realise that society as a whole is crazy, sick, and that it is heading towards a crisis that has been announced. Throughout the play, whether it's the Barbie doll or the big designers with wallets as big as their sets, everyone takes the fall. This show also asks the question: "What would happen if we freed everyone, all consciences, from the moral grip of censorship? A final piece of music starts, the lights in the stands come on and the actors invite us to a final liberating dance, like a new way of applauding, of joining in. We realise, through our inability to respond to this invitation, that once we are outside the rules, we are handicapped. The set is put away, black-nosed clowns sweep across the stage like children after a great battle of duffels and toy soldiers. Now it's up to us to decide whether we want a world of enjoyment or a world of castration. Thank you, director, thank you, actors. A great moment of enjoyment.
