On the trail of the innocent!
Meeting with the company "La vie est courte" for an unusual approach
An unconscious search for that which will always follow us, childhood.
Last year's production of Les justes won over a number of national theatre directors (Dieppe, Rouen), who invited them to take up residency for their new production of Les innocents. It's a play that sounds like an affront to the moralists of a society that locks us up in taboos. Today in Avignon: they're not the kind of people who think they can't act, and they've found their freedom by remaining independent: no need to apply for subsidies, no paid actors. But above all the pleasure of doing work that suits them. "We all work for other companies to earn a living, and then we get together to work on projects that are close to our hearts. says one actor. It's a choice that allows them to make a relevant statement that is directly linked to what they are doing on stage: in other words, no set rules; no limits to the actors' possibilities; naked bodies, video bodies: tyrannical bodies that seem to be an unconscious search for that which will always pursue us, childhood. Inspired by the world of Henry James, David Noir writes provocative, raw and savage texts that are bound to leave their mark. Because every day the difficulties change, every day the show changes. "We turn a constraint into an advantage". adds David. You'd be forgiven for thinking that the festival is far from free of constraints, so what's in it for them? "We're not here to play the rent-a-theatre game, we're here above all to continue our story with Maria Ducceschi, director of the Pulsion théâtre, a place for co-production".says David Noir, the writer and director of this team united around a single idea: to have fun. This sparkling team is on until 31 July at 10pm, at the Pulsion Théâtre.
