Head and territory

I've never seen anything like it.

Nor, above all, have we been here like this: tonight, the most important thing is this place transformed in this way. This space is open to us, inhabited by artists, alive, this territory is moving, a labyrinth overloaded with crazy montages, and free like a street in which the spectator can wander. The Générateur lends itself to this. David Noir has filled it all in, and it's neither neat nor tidy. The uninstalled space is more important than the sequence of actions that take place there. In fact, everything seems to be in disarray. So it's anything but a stage set up for an evening, with them here and us there, and yet it's a place of unbridled imagination. All our repressed thoughts materialise here and there: convoluted puns, unbridled music, existential cries, slows that drip after the end of the world, indecent demonstrations, funny videos, offbeat poetry, performers on all sides, sex in the air or adorned in extravagant costumes, disillusioned revolt, sublimated bad taste. As for time, it stretches and frees itself, diluted in the absence of any apparent plan. It's as confused as it is in our heads, in bad taste, relaxed and unexpected, the limits have no boundaries, we move the lines. We don't believe it, but we're right in the middle of it, in our mental territory, so I put on a mask and a wig, and I move around too. A zombie chases me, David Noir harangues me. But I'm never constrained or embarrassed, and I enjoy the paradoxical, tender poetry that comes from obscenity and excess.

David Noir

David Noir, performer, actor, author, director, singer, visual artist, video maker, sound designer, teacher... carries his polymorphous nudity and his costumed childhood under the eyes and ears of anyone who wants to see and hear.
