EPOK Do you have to take your sex out to do theatre?
DAVID BLACK Absolutely. And worse: you have to want to kill. The Righteous humiliate all theatre makers. In Avignon, I want to eradicate those who don't like me, the officials of the in like the crados of the off. Les Justes is against the paternalistic theatre of collaborators, that of fathers, who give commentary, comfort and consensus. We want to give love.

DAVID BLACK Love is more complex than in Walt Disney!
The conventions of small couples or war heroes must be done away with. Everything must be rebuilt. Love is a collective affair that requires the taming of neuroses and violence. We are in the age of the Golden Calf, and everything has to be recast. We must eradicate television, among other media, which sets the individual against society. I hate the image of the mediatised man: this ox who identifies with oxen! The manipulation that consists in reassuring everyone with Nazi clichés: good, evil and Le Pen, revolts me. The monster is in us. And hatred does more good to love than complacency.
EPOK That's why you have to play violence and porn?
DAVID BLACK If it was violent, we would make someone bleed! It's only fun! Why this gap between what we think and what we do? We don't even have the right to think that we can be a murderer! If we don't recognize that we can want to kill, we go towards the Aryan theory of the superman. The babas cool of the left who deny hateful thinking are the first Aryans! This popular spinelessness brought Nazism, collaboration and all the rest. Enough of this.
