"We are working on breaking down networks and bringing companies together. The theatre must break away from its families and castes. In the form of SCOPs, companies where everyone brings the same share of investment, the troupes and directors of institutions can unite and work in solidarity to get out of a certain market economy of the theatre. The Off d'Avignon, for example, was born out of a political act, but it has been taken over by the merchants. We can pool our resources to save money and preserve our interests. We must rebuild ourselves. Like after any break-up. The debate around the protocol and the intermittents is not the right one. We have to reinvent everything. It is the individual and social fractures that drive artists, and that cannot be counted.

Maria Ducceschi, director of the Pulsion-Théâtre, Festival Off d'Avignon.

"For me, any position or social commitment is based on the desire to be on stage. An artist has nothing to ask of society, while demanding everything from it. His choice and his way of life are incompatible with social benefits. I am in solidarity with the demands of those abused by Moulinex, but the artist must remain a social parasite, a buffoon in front of a more or less stupid prince. The social situation of the artist can only be rotten. If we were people of power, we would have it. We have to work on our art and our world view in our creations and in our everyday life. Our artistic activity must contribute to changing people's conceptions of the world and society. An artist works on his relationship with society on a daily basis through his productions, which have no reason to be legitimately included in the circuits of everyday consumption. The artist must produce, claim the status of intermittent, which also means remaining dependent on the central power.
