On stage and in the city, I wait for the stories to pass.
So I prefer non-narrative modes of storytelling, where all elements are treated equally; collages in which no particular form is privileged, where sex is put on the same level as comedy, thought on the same level as a joke. That's how it is in my head and therefore in my images.
My films are samples taken from the world we live in; parodic images of other images that are already parodic. The absurd and grotesque superimpositions make sense. It is performance brought to the screen. Nothing of cinema, fiction or even the stage exists there anymore. They are plastic films; little bits of medical imagery of my brain in celluloid crossed by balloon characters pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff...
Pornography is a game of everyday life, just like violence, tenderness and all the contradictory feelings, the paradoxical impressions that we know. There is not much difference in substance between beings, sexes and statures. Everything is resolved on the surface.
You're a man on the surface; a woman on the surface. A child, likewise. A thinker or a moron, likewise. As soon as you dig, everything stops; you have to reconsider everything. But nothing can really be stopped. Neither desire nor the revolution of the planets. Our life isn't even a game; just a joke. Contexts make us who we are. We can only be manipulated by contexts.
The sublime, the sacred, art, love, religion, rape, crime ... it all comes down to a hair's breadth, all the time. That's what I believe. It's even the only thing I believe in.
