Theatre? Not so wise!
"The Innocents
or
"16 black nosed
directed by David Noir
Co-production: La Vie est courte/Dieppe Scène Nationale/Théâtre des Deux Rives/Pulsion Théâtre
"They are big children, big children, hairy children with their old atultenfant bodies cast in the cloth, in the unbleached bure which hurts them, where the bottom hurts, where they sink and twist to come and refuse their caresses.
In very wise Avignon, a few diehards cling to the idea of a disturbing and liberated theatre. Between the decadent happening and the pornographic musical, "Les Innocents" shakes the audience up. Tribal regression, morbid impulses and forbidden thoughts are on the menu of this colourful and emotionally rich show. Proof that the body exists and that it still has the right to express itself in the papal city. The actors are astonishing, the provocative tone is nonetheless playful, and the (very well) sung parts lighten the whole thing. A great lewd bath of youth ... forbidden to minors of course.
