A revival of 'Puritans' at the Lavoir Moderne Parisien. This is probably the most controversial play of the year. Its young author, David Noir, uses a chiselled text to stage the body and all the abuses linked to it: fantasies, rape, paedophilia. Nine actors, including one woman, go to the extreme of nudity in this provocative and macabre descent into hell. Its pronounced taste for provocation is reminiscent of the period of sexual liberation in the seventies. Showing everything is not always synonymous with genius...
