Incest, unbridled pleasure of the flesh, here's a panoply of clips to take your breath away. The forbidden are at the surface. Les Puritains is the perfect complement to the ills of our society, and may well disturb an uninformed audience. There's a zigounette and a chatoune rubbing shoulders with the verbal. Suffice to say, in the history of theatre, Les Puritains pushes the envelope pretty far. But isn't love a stage comedy that plays with everything?
A must-see, not for its voyeuristic side but for its theatrical impulses.
